Following the Government of Ontario's Steps to Cautiously and Gradually Ease Public Health Measures announced on January 20, Queen's Athletics and Recreation (A&R) will be reopening the Athletics and Recreation Centre (ARC) on January 31 for in-person programming.
Additional Health and Safety Protocols
- The ARC will reopen at 50 percent capacity on January 31.
- Facility users will be required to complete a COVID-19 symptom screening prior to entering the ARC, in addition to their government-issued proof of vaccination, student or member card, completed SeQure app and facility reservation. (Please note: The University issued "green checkmark" is no longer sufficient for entry into the ARC)
- Facility users who are displaying symptoms of COVID-19 (PDF) are asked to stay at home and self-isolate and will not be permitted into the facility.
- While in A&R facilities, all facility users are required to follow the facility rules listed below:
- Masks are required at all times, including during physical activity (masks may be removed while showering or in the pool).
- Maintain a two-metre distance from all other facility users while engaging in workouts (i.e., no spotting, one person per bench/rack, etc.).
- Adhere to posted space capacity limits.
- Follow direction of A&R staff at all times.
Accessing the ARC
- ARC users will be required to reserve their session ahead of time through the "All Programs" button on getactive.gogaelsgo.com or via the Queen's Athletics and Recreation app and select their activity listed among the presented options. Details on reservations are available below.
- Facility users can sign up for one entry timeslot to the ARC per day, by selecting one of the available timeslots. Reservations will become available 48 hours ahead of time.
- Upon entry to the ARC, facility users can proceed to any of the fitness spaces (weights/cardio rooms) that are open and are permitted to move between rooms/floors following marked traffic flow and adhering to posted capacity limits.
- Users must arrive during the times listed on their reservation (i.e., 7:00 a.m. - 7:20 a.m.). Those arriving late will not be permitted entry.
- Individuals wishing to use the pool, racquet courts, or facilitated intramural drop-in times must register in those specific programs.
Q Sports Medicine Clinic
- Appointments will be available at the Q Sports Medicine Clinic effective January 31. Please visit qsportsmedicine.ca or call 613-533-3325 to make an appointment. Walk-ups are not allowed at this time.
Q Shop
- The Q Shop will reopen for customers on January 31, or shop online at www.qshop.ca.
