HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM GROUP FITNESS CLASSES OFFERED AT THE ARC?
Our private bookings are just that – private. You can book any of our group fitness classes, specifically for your group, whether that’s team building for student councils, wellness challenges for staff members, stress relief for rec clubs, or charity classes for fundraisers! It’s a great way to get active in a comfortable environment for your individual group.
WHAT CAN WE EXPECT IN CLASS?
High energy, electric music, and a great time! More logistically, you can expect a 60-minute workout, consisting of a warm-up, a workout, and a cool down. All classes are created to be inclusive to any level of participant and modifications for exercises will be provided throughout the class.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO HAVE A PRIVATE BOOKING?
It depends on a few variables, such as the studio requested, the type of class chosen, and the duration of the class. Some groups affiliated with Queen’s also receives discounts – feel free to explore our instructor fees and facility fees.
DO ALL PARTICIPANTS NEED TO BE AN ARC MEMBER?
No. Individuals participating in a private booking do not need to be an ARC member. They will just need to check in at our Q Services Main Desk to be let into the facility.
HOW MANY PARTICIPANTS CAN ATTEND A CLASS?
Our capacities for Studio 1 and Studio 4 (Dance/Cardio/Strength/Yoga classes) is 28 participants, while our Cycle Studio has a capacity for 24 participants. Please reach out for capacities of other locations on campus.
WHERE DO I GO FOR MY CLASS?
Our classes take place in Studio 1, Studio 4, or the Cycle Studio, depending on the type of class. Your registration confirmation will tell you where to go. If you are an ARC member, you can go straight to the class location. If you’re not an ARC member, please check in at the Q Services Main Desk and they will direct you.
DO I NEED TO COMPLETE AND SUBMIT ANY FORMS?
Yes. Once your class is confirmed by the Group Fitness Team, you will need to sign and send back the rental agreement, along with proof of insurance.
CAN I BOOK A CLASS AS A FUNDRAISER?
Yes. Although any monetary funds will need to be collected in person at the class; we aren’t able to charge a class fee and send you the funds gathered due to being a non-profit organization. Other fundraisers that collect hard goods such as clothing or canned food are also welcome!
CAN WE BRING OUR OWN INSTRUCTOR?
Unfortunately, we do not permit external instructors teaching in our facility. We have an esteemed group of instructors on our group fitness team who will provide an exceptional experience! Using our employees also ensures the utmost safety to your participants, in terms of insurance and risk management. lastly, it’s a conflict of interest to use external instructors when we have a great team in house.
WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
A 72-hour notice is required for all cancellations to avoid being charged for your group fitness class. Clients who do not cancel 72-hours before the class may be charged for the facility space and instructor of the cancelled class. This policy includes cancellations due to lack of sanctioning and/or inability to provide proof of insurance due to late submission of sanctioning applications to AMS, SGPS, etc.
