General Rules & Policies
- Where there is any question about the eligibility of a player to participate or join a team, that question should be directed to the Leagues and Tournaments Coordinator.

- In all instances, the TEAM is responsible to ensure they abide by the eligibility rules as outlined.

- Who is eligible:
- Fall-Winter Intramural leagues:Â Open to Queen's students only. Â Part-time students must purchase an ARC membership for the full term, before they are eligible to play. Â Faculty, staff, alumni are not eligible for the fall-winter intramural leagues.
- Spring-Summer Intramural leagues: Open to everyone.  Current-year SGPS members are covered through their Athletics Fees. All participants must register for an Intramural Summer Player Pass at the ARC Customer Service Desk or online for the current summer, before being eligible to play.  This can be done starting May 1st each year.

- All players must have their validated student card at the game. Â If their name appears on the team roster, they may provide alternate government-issued photo ID. Â

- An individual may play for one team per league. Â For example:
- One fall volleyball team, not one in tier 1, one in tier 2, etc.
- One fall basketball team, not one on Monday, one on Wednesday, etc.
- Ineligible player(s) will result in the game being recorded as a default loss.
- EXCEPTION: Women can play in a women's league as well as a Mixed Rec/Open league.
- A team must have the minimum playing compliment and gender ratio ready to play at game time, or they will be charged with a default.

- The individual player and team captain or team representative are responsible to ensure the gamesheet is correctly filled out and that all players in attendance are properly recorded on the IM Leagues.Â

- When adding players to your team, the captain and team are responsible to ensure that player is eligible to join the team, and is not listed on any other roster for that sport. Penalty for an ineligible player is the game being recorded as a default loss, with all the associated penalties.  PLAYERS MUST BE ON THE ROSTER PRIOR TO THE GAME. NO ADDITION OF PLAYERS AT THE GAME.

- Players ejected from the game are subject to disciplinary action. Minor infractions will be dealt with directly by the League and Tournaments Coordinator. Major infractions will be referred to the Athletics & Recreation Disciplinary Panel. See guidelines here

- In league play, a tied game shall stand. Playoff overtime will be circulated with the playoff bracket.

- Varsity Team, Varsity Club, Provincial team, National team, or Professional Team athletes are not eligible to play in that fall-winter Intramural Sport. Â This includes players who are only 'practicing' with the team (red-shirt players).
- Waterpolo includes Innertube Waterpolo.
- Soccer includes Indoor Futsal and Outdoor Soccer.
- Players who finish a fall season cannot join that intramural sport in the winter term, regardless of whether their varsity eligibility has expired.
- Current year "Junior" or "Senior" hockey players (A, B, C, D) are ineligible for Intramural hockey.

- WEATHER CANCELATION POLICY:  IN ALL CASES, officials and teams are instructed to show up to the game, unless otherwise notified by the Leagues and Tournaments Coordinator. At the games, in cases where there is thunder/lightning in the area, officials will suspend the game and players will move indoors.  Officials will wait a maximum of 15 minutes. If, following 15 minutes, there is still thunder/lightning in the area, the game will be postponed and details forwarded to the Coordinator. If, before 15 minutes has expired the game can resume, it will do so, but will still end when it was scheduled to end. A full report will be submitted immediately following the game.
Forfeit Penalties & Fees
For Team sports:Â
Team captains will be charged a default fee of $40.00 per forfeited game. Two forfeits in a league, ladder or multi-sport series will result in your team being removed. Teams losing by forfeit will lose the contest by a default score and a sportsmanship rating of a 0.Â
For Individual sports:Â
A player will be charged a default fee of $20.00 per forfeited game. Two forfeits in a league, multi-sport or ladder series will result in you being removed. Teams losing by forfeit will lose the contest by a default score and a sportsmanship rating of a 0.Â
