FALL & WINTER:
HOW DO I ATTEND A CLASS?
You can purchase a Group Fitness pass either by Fall or Winter semesters or full year (Fall + Winter) to attend ALL group fitness classes for the whole year.
If you don’t want to purchase a Group Fitness pass and want to pay as you go, you can book a drop-in session for 5$.
You must register for class exactly 2-DAYS in advance of the class offering, and it closes at the beginning of each class.
There are a limited number of spots in each class, so be sure to book your spots early!
IS THERE A FREE TRIAL?
There will be a free trial week where all Group Fitness classes will be free the first week of programming each Fall & Winter semester. You still have to register to secure your spot.
DO I NEED PREVIOUS FITNESS EXPERIENCE?
Fitness classes are offered for people of all levels and abilities! You don’t need any previous experience; our experienced fitness instructors can modify exercises to suit all needs.
WHAT CLASS SHOULD I TRY?
Check out the list of our class descriptions and feel free to send us an email at qfitness@queensu.ca if you have more questions! Also make sure to take a look at the schedule and see what class lines up with your availability!
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO CLASS?
Please bring your student card or ARC membership to get into the ARC, a water bottle, and the proper attire for class (running shoes are required for any strength/cardio class).
WHERE ARE THE GROUP FITNESS CLASSES?
Studios 1 and 4 are located on level 2 of the ARC with doors facing the open weight section of the gym. The cycle studio is on level 3 of the ARC, through the gym in the back right corner. Check out the signs to help guide you! The studio will be specified under the program registration on the website.
WHAT IF I HAVE AN INJURY OR HEALTH CONCERN?
Inform the instructor before the class starts so they can provide modifications or alternatives to certain exercises. Always be sure that you are cleared by a health professional before attending the classes.
WHAT IS THE CAPACITY IN THE GROUP FITNESS CLASSES?
This ranges from 20-28 participants depending on the class type.
WHERE CAN I SEE WHAT INSTRUCTORS TEACH EACH FITNESS CLASS?
Go to About Us > Group Fitness Team to see a roster of all our Group Fitness instructors and what classes they teach. Their names are not linked with the registration since there are many instances where instructors need subs or must switch classes due to last minute illnesses / injuries. In addition, we want to focus on promoting the overall quality of all our fitness classes and trust all our instructors to lead effective and engaging workouts.
SPRING / SUMMER:
HOW DO I ATTEND A CLASS?
