Kayla Beren

My name is Kayla, and I’m studying Health Studies, as well as Disability and Physical Activity here at Queen’s.  My passion for fitness and health stems from playing a variety of sports growing up, such as hockey, baseball, basketball, volleyball, marathon running, competitive track and field, and snowboarding. Being from a rural area, I also have a love for activities outdoors such as hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking.  In high school, I began leading fitness classes at my local gym and have enjoyed teaching exercise and sharing my knowledge on fitness and wellness since then (about 4 years ago). I have a passion for making fitness accessible for everyone regardless of ability, and enjoy my time as an exercise coach with Revved Up here at Queen’s. 
 
As a personal trainer, my goals are to increase the confidence of my clients in the gym while establishing beneficial and long-lasting activity patterns. I believe that sustained physical activity stems from true enjoyment. Therefore I strive to extend my passion for various forms of exercise to others – health and wellness is truly different for everyone!
