WSIB rules state that a Standard First Aid certification can only be "recerted" by alternating a full course with a "recert course". Candidates must alternate between full courses and recertification courses. Standard First Aid is valid for 3 years. All Manuals are included in the price of the course. This course provides senior and experienced lifeguards with specific knowledge and training in the use of oxygen tanks, suction devices, oral airways and a variety of masks used to help those requiring supplemental oxygen. Participants must have Standard First Aid with CPR-C to take this course from one of the following providers: Lifesaving Society, St. John Ambulance, Canadian Red Cross, or Canadian Ski Patrol. |

CPR-HCP covers all aspects of CPR skills and theory for adult, child and infant victims, including rescue breathing, the use of AED's and the use of Bag Valaved Masks. This level is designed specifically for those who work as health care providers (ex. nurses, paramedics, personal support workers etc.) and have a duty to respond to medical emergencies. This is also ideal for Lifeguards looking to increase their rescue response knowledge. |
