Markham, Ont. (November 10, 2007) - The Queen's Golden Gaels bid for their first league title since 2001 fell short as they lost to the Brock Badgers in the OUA Final 22-6 Saturday afternoon at Fletcher's Field. The Gaels took the lead on a Bryn Davies (Schomberg, Ont.) penalty kick two minutes into the game but Brock answered with a try just shy of the 19 minute mark. Davies the East division Most Valuable Player made another penalty kick to put the Gaels back ahead by one at 6-5 but Brock scored a try right on halftime to take a 10-6 lead that they would not relinquish. In the second half the Badgers scored two tries five minutes apart in the last ten minutes of the game as they claimed Brock's first ever rugby championship.
OUA All-Star Ray Barkwill was named the OUA Championship MVP.
