Fitness Zones
Please note that all equipment inventory is subject to change depending on the provincial COVID-19 guidelines.
Cardio Zone 1
Located on Level 2, Cardio Zone 1 features over 50 pieces of equipment with 16 televisions and wireless audio to enjoy our naturally lit cardio theatre.

Equipment includes:
  • 5 Climbmill
  • 7 Recumbent bikes
  • 11 Stationary bikes
  • 10 Spin bikes
  • 20 total body trainers (elliptical)

The Cardio Zone is 3,147 sq ft (30 ft x 104 ft)
Cardio Zone 1
Cardio Zone 2
Located on the Level 2, Cardio Zone 2 features 31 treadmills with 12 televisions.

Equipment includes:
  • 41 treadmills
Cardio Zone 2
Conditioning Zone
Located on Level 2, our 15,750 square foot Conditioning Zone features equipment for all levels of fitness.
 
Equipment includes:
  • 6 Plate loaded machines
  • 7 Squat racks
  • 1 Assisted squat rack
  • Dumbbells ranging from 5lb-110lbs
  • 1 Boxing bags
  • Function fitness structure
  • Plyometric boxes
  • Stretching mats

Lifting Zone
Located on Lower Level 1, the lifting zone is an inclusive area that allows members to focus more on compound movements.
 
Equipment includes:
  • 7 Squat racks
  • Dumbbells ranging from 5lb-140lbs
  • Bumper plates
  • Functional Fitness structure
  • Plyometric boxes
  • Stretching Mats

Women's Fitness Zone
Located on Level 3 of the ARC, this newly renovated space is a brightly lit workout area designated primarily for women, unless otherwise scheduled for programming.  

Women's only spaces and programs provide for a safe, comfortable and fun atmosphere. Whether you are just learning to use equipment or looking to get a great workout, our Women's Fitness Zone is designed to encourage women of all abilities to use our facilities and encourage equitable participation in physical activity.

  • 2 stationary bikes
  • 1 steppers
  • 1 rowing machines
  • Functional Trainer
  • Abductor/Adductor Machine
  • Glue/Back Thrust Machine

  • Back Extension Machine
  • Single Leg Split Squat Machine
  • Medicine Ball Wall
  • Battle Rope
  • Heavy Bag
  • Dumbbells ranging from 5-60lb

The Women's Fitness Zone is 2,871 sq ft (66 feet x 43.5 feet) and underwent an expansion and renovations in December of 2019 and officially reopened on Monday, January 6, 2020.

Stacked Weight Zone
Located on Level 1, the Stacked Weight Zone offers machines designed to target major muscle groups.

Equipment includes:
  • 30 machines
  • 21 selectorized pieces
The Stacked Weight Zone is 468 sq ft (21 feet x 22ft).

Stretching Zones
There are two Stretching Zones at the ARC. One is located on Level 1 and the other on Level 2. The second stretching zone located on Level 2 is an intimate and naturally lit stretching area.

Personal Training Suites
Athletics & Recreation provides high-quality, convenient in-person personal training services for the Queen's University community in our dedicated personal training suites. Whether you are new to working out or are looking for opportunities to advance your existing skills, our knowledgeable personal trainers are here to help you reach your fitness goals! All are welcome; no prior experience required!
