Intramurals Header 4

Intramurals are recreational sports leagues organized by Queen’s Athletics & Recreation. Summer 2025 Intramurals are open to all (students, staff, faculty, and general public). Fall and Winter Intramurals are open to all Queen’s University students and staff, with costs for Fall and Winter term Intramurals included in student fees (some exceptions apply). They offer a great opportunity for students to stay involved in the sports they love or try a new sport while attending university. All intramurals leagues administered by Athletics & Recreation are designed so that each student can have fun in a recreational setting.

Level of Play:

Competitive: Defined as a setting where participants have played their respective sport in an organized competitive setting for more than 2 years with an advanced understanding. Their explanation of the rules is fully understood, Individuals in these leagues fully understand the importance of teaching others, have a great understanding of the sport, its rules, its strategy and going above just the basics.

Intermediate: Involves the players that may still be new to Intramurals or still like to focus on the social aspect of our offerings but are seeking a little more competition. The rules are understood, players have played for a rep/club team, teams tend to be more structured and even play with some strategy.

Recreational: The recreational level welcomes new participants to the game or those just looking to have fun. Most players are new to the sport and have little previous experience. It’s as much about the social aspect as it is about the sport at this level..

Categories:

Open: Male and Female identifying participants with no restrictions on how many players of each gender are in the game at any one time. Be advised that most teams in this category will be predominantly male.

Mixed: Male and Female identifying participants with sport rules outlining requirements on how many players of each gender must be in the game at any one time.

Women's: Female identifying participants only.
